The position:
As a Safety Driver, you'll be at the core of the team bringing this latest technology to market. We're revolutionizing the way that people get from point A to point B and this is your chance to be part of something BIG from the beginning.

Shift Pattern:
Poppy is looking for a safety driver. This role is for our morning or evening shifts which will be from 05:00 - 13:00 or 13:00 - 21:00.
This role is based full-time at our hub in Kortenberg or Antwerp, or onsite with the car.

The responsibilities:

• Stay alert and focused at all times inside the remotely driven vehicle.

• Monitor the road environment continuously to detect any hazards or safety concerns.

• Maintain real-time, clear communication with the remote driver to relay critical info and support safe navigation.

• Step in when necessary to ensure the safety of the vehicle, passengers (if any), and everyone around.

• Interact with Poppy users and provide excellent service towards our customers.

• Perform test drives as a safety driver according to test protocols.

• Support our engineering team with performing data collection and test reports as necessary.

• You’ll also be expected to take on additional fleet and administrative tasks to support smooth operations and deliver an outstanding customer experience.

Safety driver requirements:

• A safety-first mindset and a calm, quick-thinking approach in unexpected situations.

• You like to drive (and consider yourself a safe and responsible driver).

• You have a Belgian driving license (B), clean driving record, and at least 2 years of driving experience with Uber, taxi or similar.

• You are proficient in English and Dutch (French is a plus)

• You can pass a drug test (including THC)

• You are organized and well-structured.

• You are resilient and have a troubleshooting mindset.

• You have Google Workplace knowledge (e.g., G-Docs, Sheets, and or Slides).

• You are interested in autonomous driving and mobility.

• You take initiative, you are proactive.
